Jacen is a Jedi Master, as well as a former Sith Lord, of tremendous power. He has, at times, used the extremes of both sides of the Force, though now he is what he refers to as the Balance, that being that he still uses powers both 'light' and 'dark', though not the most extreme of either side.

Jacen is a tall, well built man, with the muscle that comes from considerable training in body as well as mind. His hair is dark and worn short most of the time. He keeps himself mostly clean shaven, though he sometimes has a goatee. His eyes can change in color, ranging from his normal blue to dark red and yellow if his Sith side is challenged. No matter what the colour, the eyes always look as though they are seeing everything, with a defiant streak to them. His smirk clearly comes from his father, known across more than one galaxy as the Solo Smirk. His dress style is mostly casual and influenced mostly from his friendship with Sarah Petrelli, who introduced him to Earth clothes, though he still wears Jedi- style robes when he wants to feel comfortable.

PERSONALITY & DEMEANOR
Would you believe me if I said there were reasons?

Jacen Solo is, in a word, complex. Just when people think they have him entirely figured out, he pulls something out to surprise them.

As a child he was a gentle soul, who couldn't bear any sort of violence. His empathy with animals was his most noticeable trait. However, this kindness in many ways faded as the years passed and he became hardened by constant wars and struggles, eventually making the descent to the Dark Side. As a Sith he was ruthless and cruel, sadistic even towards the people he had once loved.

The Jacen that evolved after the death of Caedus was a blend of both of these, with other new elements. He is primarily sarcastic and quick witted, and not afraid of what anyone thinks of him. He doesn't see the point in holding back with his opinions; if he dislikes someone or thinks they've done something stupid, he will say so, often in the harshest way possible.

Many would consider Jacen to be arrogant, however, he himself would argue that it is not arrogance when he is entirely capable of everything he claims he is. He has never needed to exaggerate his abilities, and sees the idea of doing so as beneath him.

One of the defining traits of Jacen is how deeply and passionately loyal he is to those he has decided are his family. Not of his blood, but the ones he has chosen. He has, more than once, demonstrated that there is literally nothing he will not do to protect them, from killing to dying for them. Most of the time he tries to keep his temper in check, aware of the dangers of the Sith side still within him, but the one thing guaranteed to make his temper rise is threatening children. Any child, but in particular his own daughter, Allana, and the other children he cares about including Clary Fray and even, though he would never admit it, Ben Winchester.

Despite his many flaws, which he openly acknowledges, Jacen is also known for his quirky sense of humor, especially with regards to the Earth obsession with his parents story. But never, never mention his mother in THAT outfit. There is only so much a man can take!

PERSONAL HISTORY
I don't expect you to understand

Jacen was born the twin brother of Jaina Solo, the first children of Han and Leia Solo. Jaina was the older twin by mere minutes, a fact she held over her brother frequently. A few years later their little brother, Anakin Solo was born.

Their childhood was far from idyllic. Even with the Emperor dead, the remnants of the Empire, and the Sith remained, and the Solo children were frequent victims of kidnap plots, some aimed at targeting their parents and others due to scrapes they themselves got into. Along with their friends, including the Hapan princess Tenel Ka Djo, they also began their training as young Jedi knights.

Jacen himself was a peaceful child, known for his empathic abilities with animals. It was his sister who most would worried about, coming dangerously close to the Dark Side at times, with her hot temper. Anakin was often the balance between the two, with Jacen sometimes questioning whether or not it was even right to use the Force in battles at all.

The first changes began during the Vong war. Anakin was killed, while still just a teenager, a loss that affected Jacen greatly. Jacen himself was kidnapped by the Vong and brutally tortured in the Embrace of Pain, along with the psychological torment of the former Jedi, Vergere. Vergere had entered the Vong space many decades before and worked with them. Within Jacen she saw the potential for greatness as a Sith and she began her training of him, tormenting him with questions that had no answer. With his family all believing he was dead, Jacen was trapped for a long time, between life and death with only Vergere for company.

Eventually, Vergere sacrificed herself to save him, something that always confused Jacen though he was thankful for it. He returned to his family and destroyed the Vong once and for all, using the full depth of his now great power and achieving Balance. This effort nearly killed him, but did destroy the Vong. Jacen then left for five years, exploring the unknown territories at the edge of space.

Upon his return he was a changed man. He manipulated events to cause the Swarm War, though most did not recognize this at the time. He believed, passionately, that avoiding this latest conflict would in fact do more harm to the galaxy. It was around this time that he was reunited with childhood love Tenel Ka, and their daughter, Allana was conceived.

Allana was partially the reason for his final descent. Jacen was still plagued by visions of a galaxy torn apart by war, a galaxy as dangerous as the one that had claimed the life of his brother. It was at this time that Lumiya entered his life.

A self proclaimed Sith, it was Lumiya who trained him to become Darth Caedus, claiming it would finally bring order to the galaxy. In the belief of the greater good, Jacen did many horrific things, including murdering his aunt, Mara Jade Skywalker, torturing his cousin Ben, manipulating his dead brother's girlfriend into becoming his new apprentice, using his own daughter as a shield to protect himself and burning Kashyyyk, the home planet of the wookies. He even fired on the Millennium Falcon with his parents and sister inside.

Finally, his family knew there was no saving him, and Jaina took it upon herself to battle her twin. However, the Moffs had conspired against him, manipulating his emotions for the Hapan royal family and creating a virus that would target only them. Even though Caedus had already killed Isolder, Tenel Ka's father, it was too late. While dueling Jaina, he was faced with a choice; to focus on the fight and kill his twin, or to send a warning through the Force to Tenel Ka, to save herself and their daughter and sacrifice himself in the process.

He chose them.

Deactivating his lightsaber, he poured everything into a Scream through the Force, just as Jaina stabbed him. In those last moments, even Jaina knew he was truly Jacen again, before the lightsaber reached his heart and he was killed.

After his death, it wasn't the end for Jacen Solo. He woke up in Los Angeles, confused and angry. It wasn't long before he met once more with Tenel Ka, who had already been in the city for some time, who prepared him for this new city.

One of the first people he met was Sarah Petrelli, one of the ones in charge at the Hyperion Hotel, base of operations of Angel Investigations. Initially he was sarcastic and belligerent, the lingering style of Caedus still influencing his decisions.

However, as time went on, and he found himself more accepted by the people at the hotel, he began to relax and find himself again. He became friends with people like Faith Lehane and especially Sarah Petrelli, with whom he shared a playful sense of humor. It was with Sarah's help that Tenel Ka was saved when she was pushed towards the Dark Side herself. It was this that eventually led to the final death of Alema Rar, a dark Jedi who had been driven insane. In the end Jacen did regret having to kill someone he had once considered a friend, and carried her lightsaber as a mark of respect.

Jacen also began to work with the city at large, battling Lilith after she tried to kidnap him. Furious at the idea of someone hurting children, he aided the Winchesters in bringing her down. This set a precedent as he later aided them against Alastair as well.

Without the pressures of his home galaxy, and with the relief of having someone else in charge, Jacen was free to actually date Tenel Ka, the way they had never been able to at home.

It was a strange situation that finally allowed Jacen to come to terms with Caedus. Several members of the city were switched with alternate versions of themselves, and Jacen was sent to a world where Caedus had chosen himself over Tenel Ka and Allana, a universe that Jacen loathed. At his return, he battled his evil self, finally destroying him and proposing to Tenel Ka and achieving a balance with himself. He married Tenel Ka a few weeks later, with Xander Harris as his best man, and Sarah Petrelli and Faith Lehane as the bridesmaids. The angel, Castiel, conducted the ceremony.

This balance helped him gain a perspective on the situation with Sam Winchester, who was being corrupted by the demon Ruby. Jacen saw the path Sam was walking down, and did what he could to help, even using Flow Walking to tear through Ruby's mind and making her see the truth of what she was doing.

The closeness with Sam, as well as the arrival of future versions and children, prompted Eve of Wolfram and Hart to kidnap them both to try to provoke a Sith Lord and a Boy King again. This backfired when both refused to break under her torment and they were rescued by their families. Including Allana.

Allana arrived as a child a few months later, completing Jacen's family. Though she gave him more than a few headaches of her own, getting kidnapped frequently and running around with the young Ben Braeden-Winchester. It was only the counsel of Sarah that kept Jacen from going completely crazy at the idea of someone dating his little girl.

Marriage, as it turned out, as not as easy as he had previously hoped. When the Powers That Be started confusing the issue further, by letting people leave the city, Jacen elected to stay in LA, becoming its primary protector after many others left to explore other places. Away from the epic wars that had so defined much of their lives, Jacen and Tenel Ka found a marriage hard to actually maintain. Jacen knew he would always have the darker side within him, one that sometimes came closer to the surface than he might have liked, but Tenel Ka would either try to pacify him or even at times feared him. Even having Allana there was difficult, with Jacen feeling unable to show real emotions when his daughter was in danger through fear of how his wife would react. It was Sarah who helped him through his worst times, there for him when he needed the space to vent, or even cry without judgment. And he in return tried his best to be there for her during the strains of her own marriage.
